So here I am, back again for my yearly post…….but not this year! I’ve committed to update this blog more than one time this year. I have lots to create and lots to say! And with my degree out of the way! Whoop Whoop!!!! I’m going to make time for the things that I love that have been pushed aside by reading, homework, discussion boards and finals!! Man do I feel free.
My first post is dedicated to Basic Greys Adrift collection. I love the nautical theme and have had a small pile of whales, waves and surf boards that have just been waiting for a little inspiration! So to get my creative juices flowing I used January’s Viva La Verve sketch to start myself off.
I used the patterned papers from the Basic Grey Adrift collection and a sticker set I picked up at Michaels. My Card Stock is Dusty Durango from Stampin’ Up and Fine Linen from Papertrey Ink.
I continued on with the same papers but with a different layout and made a birthday card for a friend that loves the beach!
I finished off with this one from a friend that has suffered a great loss.
That’s it for this post! I can’t wait to see where my next pretty paper experience takes me!
Where did the year go? I’ve have good intentions all year to update and post to this poor forgotten blog….but something always seems to get in the
way……too many excuses to list and why waste time on that. I’m here now and have something beautiful to share. So I’ll just get to it. One thing that I have learned about my creative self this year is that I can’t just mass create for the sake of having a stockpile of cards. I have to find inspiration from the person that I am creating the card for. Once I Know the person and or the event I can see the perfect piece of paper, embellishment, brad, sticker, glitter or technique to make something special for someone extra special. I Love to look back at past creations to see how my style has blossomed and my confidence has grown. Creating something beautiful for someone else feeds my soul and provides a creative playground for my “messy” mind! Here are some cards that I’ve created this past year. Thanks for looking. Happy New year!!!
Finally able to post a few pics of my Christmas in June Cards. I’ve been mulling over this Basic Grey “Nordic Holiday” paper for several months and finally found the time to break it out and put it to use! As I looked through my massive stash of Christmas crafts I discovered that I had about a kazillion snowmen, every shape, size and variety – Stickers, chipboard, brads, paper, even ribbon. So I decided my 2013 Christmas cards would have a snowman theme.
When I needed some new inspiration I switched to Gnomes and Poinsettias. All of these cards were made using Basic Grey’s Nordic Holiday Paper, Stickers, Chipboard and brads. I also used Blue and Red Shimmer Paper from Papertrey Ink! I hope to get back in the groove soon to make a few more! I’m always hopeful to be a little ahead of the game but seem to have to scramble by the end of the year! Plus I need to get done with these so I can focus on my favorite holiday — Halloween! Yay!
I know it seems weird but I’m starting to not only think about but fret about Christmas. To be more specific Christmas cards! See, for a stamper, November is not the time to start thinking about Christmas cards, that is if you are planning to make your own! Unless of course you are super organized and have plenty of time on your hands. neither of which have graced me! so, while the temperatures are soaring in the high 80’s and the midnight sun refuses to set, I find my thoughts lingering on Christmas stamps and paper and wondering how I’m going to fit in some stamping between bike rides and pic-nicks, trips to the lake and all of the other summertime activities that we have to squeeze in these precious few months! Here are a few pics of our fast and furious activities!
I love it when the stars align and time and inspiration collide in beautiful harmony. It’s not often in my life (these days) that it happens. I found some time this past weekend to put together a few things.
I used Night of Navy as my base and layered it with pieces of 6X6 pieces of Picadelly. The Sentiment is from Verve Stamps, Butterfly is by spellbinders and the flower brads are from stampin’ up.
I used the same Picadilly papers for this one and added some red striped ribbon from Stampin’ Up and a couple of chipboard stickers and a glazed brad.
Love love love Dr. Seuss…….These things are fun and fun is good………especially with Picadilly, cuddle bug, and Verve Stamps……
Berry Sweet…..Still on the Picadilly craze! I used card stock stickers and a few brads to for this one.
Switched up this colors a bit. this is a combo of Picadilly, Always Artichoke and Real Rust….defiantly some classic stampin up colors……. I got a little brad happy on these….but…if you knew how many brads I actually had…………… 🙂
p.s. the ribbon is dusty durango………
Go Confiedently in the direction of Picadelly……..Love a big bold Rooster!
Okay…I am defiantly partial to this one. As I was going through my Picadilly papers, stickers and brads I immediately zoned in on this lovely tree. It’s pretty big, so I knew I needed a larger canves……I was focusing on the reds, orange and blues…..and then noticed this lovely brown and blue paper…..as it was coming together I thought the tree seemed a little plain……then I remembered the owls from the Pyrus release. I cut them out and added them to the tree and used a VerveStamps sentiment
Hi there, a few more birthday cards to post…..gotta get inspired, I’ve got two big birthdays coming up!! My precious Sugar Baby is turning 1!! My how time flies……a year old? and my dear bestest friend on Tuesday………
I used a K&Co paper pack for this one and Gold card stock from PTI. The Card Stock from Paper Trey Inc is the best!!
This one I used Taken with Teal and Real Red and a card stock sticker by K&Co
Hi there…here are a few Birthday cards that I have made for my co-workers…..New projects are in the works and coming soon. I’m loving these longer, warmer days….I find the inspiration bursting out of me…..as long as my sweet little Sugar Baby will cooperate with me! 🙂
I used my BasicGrey collections Orignis, Green at Heart, June Bug and Nook and Pantry
this one was made using the Green at Heart Collection
Even though it’s only 30 degrees outside and there is still much snow and ice on the ground I can’t help but feel a little bit of spring fever when the sun beats down in my kitchen and living room. So, I decided to pull out my Lime Rickey paper and see what happy spring vibes would come. Here are a few things that I came up with. ~Enjoy ArcticStampDiva
My obsession with BasicGrey paper means that I cannot live without a single one of the collections!! When I looked at the Curio collection I thought…..hmmm will I use this, it’s not really my style but, took a chance with it. while looking through it I came across a fantastic piece that looked like old black lace! I immediately thought “Goth” and grabbed my 3 goth girls from Stampotique. It took me about two days to put this card together but I am pleased with the results, even more so I was surprised to find that I had a few more tricks up my sleeve with this collection. Enjoy……….. ~ArcticStampDiva
I found some vintage looking butterflies I had lying around and used the flower frame rub on as my focal point
I kept this simple with a card stock flower sticker and letters….No stamping but I like it just the same….
I’ve had these two old ladies (River City rubber stamps) and this sentiment for 100 years, okay for at least 7 years and I love it!! But like the Paper I’ve struggled with how to use them…..therefore this combo seemed like a marriage made in heaven!
And last, this is my version of the collage/ephemera look…….just something quick and simple.
